...We got a free air filter!

I have been running on a donut tire for the last two weeks. Just after payday the real tire went flat and refused to be inflated again. Arg. Not only that, they were really starting to go bald. That particular tire was just awful. After calling around we found that Walmart was the cheapest for purchase and install. It was $50 for the works per tire. We got two. We really need four, but the other two will just have to wait till next month. I think they'll be ok, honestly.

While we were there, we also got the windshield wipers replaced, and my front-left headlight fixed (I was a "beer" for about 3-4 weeks) and... oh! We also got our air filter replaced... by accident. lol - They apparently thought we needed it, and replaced it thinking that's what they were supposed to do, but we hadn't actually ordered it, nor were we going to pay for something we didn't ask for. We got a free air filter!

The guy said that the old one was really gross anyway, and it was due for a change. I was planning on doing that next month anyway, so I wasn't upset that it was done... for FREE. :)

More News

Oh, also... I'm getting the lump removed from my boob tomorrow. I'll be totally knocked out, so I'm not too worried. Ok. I'm freakin' freaked out! They're going to stick needles in me and cut open my skin like a piece of meat! O M G.

I'll probably be crying from the stress later today, but for now I'm doing ok. Trying not to think about it. Cause, I'm super excited that the lump is getting removed and that I'll have my normal squishy-ness back again (with an added scar). Also, this is a prelude to a much scarier operation in a few months - the Lap-Band surgery. So this will be a taste of what it'll be like when they knock me out to go into my gut and add parts to it.

Also, I get the next two days off! So I'll be able to relax all day Friday and not have to worry about anything but pain medicine! Hee hee.

Well, that's all for today... right now... this moment. Hope you are all having a great day. Thanks for reading!

Car is better.

...used a littlegreen garden wire...

Ok, I went back into the door panel yesterday. I don't think I did anything wrong, I think there may have been a clip there before holding the rod from the latch to the hole it goes in on the outside door handle.

I jerry-rigged it and used a little green garden wire to attach the two together, made sure it had enough wiggle-room to move, opened, shut, opened the door, rolled down the window... etc. It works perfectly now. No more climbing through, no more opening only from the inside. No more can't-open-the-window stuffiness.

Yay me!!

Car is still stupid.

...I drove after that with a Bungee Cord holding my door shut...

Yesterday I fixed my car. Yes, I got greasy and gross. Well, only a little.
After work I went to a junk yard and spent $35 on the latch for my driver-side door. I've been getting in and out through the passenger side for about 2 weeks now and I was getting sick of it. Yesterday... Sunday? Sometime... I went to my friend Esther's and her BF got the door open for me... Sunday. Yeah, Sunday. Anyway, so he got the door open and I drove around after that with a Bungee Cord holding my door shut...

So like I said, went to the junk yard and got a new latch. Came home and put it in. I was so excited, like... look how cool I am! C'mon! Then... then my BF asks me "Can you roll the window down?" So I tried. Like yes, of course I can.... uh. No.
I rolled down my window and it opened my fricken door. So later today I get to open up the door panel again and find out where I went wrong.
When I did that it also loosened the bar that goes to the outside door handle. So I can get out ok, but I have to open the door from the inside to get it open to get back in.
Grr.

The chain of supply and demand...

...Viva la Revolution!!!

Instead of boycotting gas, which we know to be ineffective, lets instead boycott the cars that are keeping us dependent on oil.

Stop buying anything that runs solely on gasoline. Spinning Globe Force automakers to innovate and change their technology by hitting their bottom line.Globe

It's not just the oil makers fault that we are dependent on them. This is just a by-product of our need to go and go fast. We talk about how we want to save the world, we all talk about how global warming is out of control. Well let's do something that might actually work.

I'm asking you to stop buying any car that runs solely on gasoline. If that means you don't buy a car this year, then so be it. Don't buy a car.
This is a gas-powered car boycott!

If you care about our world, and global warming, then repost this as:

Power outage?

...in her mad rush attempt to escape the police ...subsequently wrapping her stolen taxiaround a telephone pole
- literally...

Friday nights we go to my boyfriend's brothers house for him to play role-playing games. This last friday night (last night) we went and all was normal till we came home. When we got back to our apartment the power was out. Weird. It was about 2 in the morning, when we pulled in some street lights were on, but we couldn't figure out if it was the entire neighborhood or just our apartment complex. If it was just our complex that would have been really odd.

We pulled out a flashlight and lit some candles to get ready for bed. The power didn't come back on for 20 minutes and we started to worry that it wasn't coming back on soon enough. On Saturday's my daughter goes to gymnastics, and this particular Saturday she had that and a birthday party because her birthday was just this past Thursday. What all that meant of course, is that we had to get up in time, we were also concerned about the food in the fridge.

We finally decided to call the power company to see if they knew about the power outage. The regular customer support line was supposed to have closed at 5pm on Friday so we didn't bother to call that one. The emergency line didn't answer. So we called the regular maintenance line instead. That one didn't answer either! So just to make sure, we called the normal electric company number. It had a recording on it that they knew about the power outage and were working on fixing it. The estimated time of fix was supposed to be in 60 minutes.

After waking up to the power being back on we didn't think much else of it. Until about 20 minutes ago, that is. We were watching the news, because it happened to be on, and found out that a girl had stolen a taxi cab... O.J. Simpson style. So, this girl, in her mad rush attempt to escape the police, decided to travel down a street in Glenwood, subsequently wrapping her newly stolen taxi around a telephone pole.... literally. This caused the utility pole to fall over, bringing with it several power lines in the process. Luckily, or possibly unluckily, the girl lived so far. She's currently in intensive care in our Sacred Heart medical center. Though if she makes it through this alive, she'll be brought up on many felony charges which will most likely end with her in jail for a long time.

Anyway, so that's why the power was out. Total Hollywood movie material, eh?
