Movie Reviews!

...He has pictures of himself everywhere...

Well, I saw two movies yesterday while I was recuperating. I saw The GamePlan and Next. They were both good movies, I thought. I'm going to do The GamePlan today and Next tomorrow.

In The GamePlan, Rock's character (Joe Kingman) is a big football star in Boston. He is very self-centered and selfish. He has pictures of himself everywhere. He lives in a small apartment with his dog and he parties alot.

Well, then a little girl shows up on his doorstep. She's his daughter Payton, she says. He asks for proof and she gives it to him. She said also that her mom was in Africa and her aunt is dead. He takes her on her word and keeps her for the amount of time the kid says her mom would be gone.

Turns out that Peyton was making stuff up, and she was in contact with "her mom" the whole time. More on that in a minute though.

Rock's character (Joe) takes her to ballet class, and meets her teacher. She's a nice lady that has the kid's best interest at heart, unlike Joe. She makes Joe dance ballet and be a tree in their play type thing. ((What do you call that in ballet, a show??)) He then realizes that ballet is hard work. He also realizes that he likes the teacher.

They end up together'ish in the end. Then the little girl has a reaction to some dessert, since she's allergic to nuts and there were nuts in it. Joe literally runs to the hospital from the restaurant they're in and saves her.

*Spoiler alert*

The "mom" ends up being the dead aunt, and it turns out the mom is the one who's actually dead. She doesn't think Joe is a very responsible dad, and wants to take the kid. The kid overhears a conversation Joe's agent was having on the phone. Where this was going to ruin his career and then tells her dad that she'd rather live with Aunt Karen.

They leave right before Joe's big championship game. In the game, he's totally sucking and gets hurt. He pulls himself out of the game because he thinks it would be better for the team. Then Peyton shows up, makes him feel better and he finishes out the game and wins.

Then he gets to keep Peyton in the end, and they live happily ever after.

The End.
