Still Here

...usually I just smile and nod...
Hey, guess what? I'm not dead yet. Not that you thought I should be, but either way, I'm not. Anyway, I'm here not to talk about life, but to talk about a pet peeve of mine.

Every morning when I come into work I play this game. People are walking to the front door from several directions, and if one gets to the door before you, they tend to hold the door open for you. So I intentionally slow down or speed up to account for this. To stop them from holding the door.

It's not that I don't like having the door held for me. Don't get me wrong... just, I don't think it's entirely appropriate in the morning, coming in to work. Especially when I'm not entirely focused on other people, and the whole small talk and pleasantries that come along with it are a pain.

Now one added caveat; don't slam the door in my face either. If I'm right behind you, then by all means, hold the door. If I have so much in my hands that it looks like I can't open the door.... hold the door. But If I'm 20 feet back, and your holding the door consists of you standing there like an idiot waiting for me to catch up - don't. It makes me feel guilty or rushed. Either I have to speed up to make you not wait so long, or go my normal pace and feel like a clod that I made you wait that long. Hell, I would even extend this to 4-5 feet back. Basically, if your holding the door and my hand can't reach it in 2 seconds under normal circumstances, you shouldn't have been holding the door.

Besides, I hate all that thank you, thank you bit. I don't really like talking much in the morning, especially to people I don't know, and sometimes not even to the ones I do know. Usually I just smile and nod.

So thank you to all those idiots who've held the door for me on the way in to work.  It was very polite of you, just annoying.   Now stop it.

So Fucking Bored.

I'm bored. Just bored. I feel antsy and I want to go out and play. I'm listening to Incubus, and Kelly Clarkson. We're really busy. I'm on call after call after call... etc. You get my drift.

Thoughts thoughts and more thoughts.

...No school till later- New IPod right Now!

Bad news and good news and some general stuff. Maybe. lol
Ok, so I decided that I'm putting off school.
I really want to do it, but realistically I can't imagine dealing with school, work, and my surgery in Spring. I don't want to start school only to have to quit again later this year. Bad for my learning, bad for my credit.... (i.e.; student loans! ick)
I have officially dropped all my classes, and I'm going to the school today to talk about the reprocussions of doing that. I want to make sure my loans have been suspended/cancelled till I'm ready to start. I may start summer of '08 or wait till Winter of '08. Maybe things can be a little less crazy at that point.
I'm totally dissappointed, but really, honestly. I need to wait. In the meantime I'll continue to study on my own and focus on work and getting to March (when I'm supposed to have my surgery - more on that later)

Ok, on to the good news. I won an IPOD at work!!! One of those new ones, that have video. It's an 8 GB black IPOD nano! These are soooo awesome.

Also, after much going back and forth on this. I've got my paperwork 90% finished for my lap-band surgery. I am anticipating a 6 month physician supervised diet, so I won't be able to do it till March at the earliest. Also, from what I've seen on other people's blogs, it's not uncommon for insurance approval to be very very slow. I need to get this ball rolling!!!

Ok, that's all for now. See ya!

Hell Day.

...having a speed limit of 40 but the cop pulls you over- you should be going 50...

Not having a good day. I feel like crying. It's been a frustrating day (week) at work and I want to leave early. I've gotten some conflicting information and it's unsettling. I don't like it when the rules are blurred. Either its one way or the other. It's like having a speed limit of 40 mph, then you drive 40, but the cop pulls you over saying that you should be going at least 50mph.

Changed Outlook

...New desk.
New View. Yay!...

New desk. New view.
I love my new desk. It has given me a whole new outlook on life. Kidding.
But really, it is an awesome desk and an awesome view. It certainly makes me feel better about coming to work everyday. Here's a picture:
