...Happy Birthday to Me and President Obama!

To me and to President Obama! Yay Us!! I am 35, and while old is not as old as Obama who turned 48 today. I am celebrating with a double-decker red velvet cake with boston cream and coconut filling, topped with frosting that looks like an ice cream sundae flavored chocolate and strawberry. MMMMmmmMMMmmmm. Hopefully I'll get some ice cream too.

My President, the Rockstar.

President Barack Obama was on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno. Sweet.

I was all smiles during this interview. I thoroughly enjoyed it, I loved his answers about AIG and his statements about the economy. I got the feeling he really cares, and that he's really invested in making America a better place. They looked like they were really having a good time, and enjoying each others' company. I loved the bit at the end about the "Portuguese water head dog" ! That had me giggling. And it does sound like a scary dog!!! lol

Mr. President, you are a rockstar and I'm so glad you were elected.

When I heard the news.

...You probably won't remember this in themorning BUT Obama won!...

I've had a headache since Halloween. I haven't been feeling well, and I try to go to bed early so that I can suffer through my long days at work. On Tuesday, November 4th, 2008 I kissed my boyfriend goodnight, and did my final nighttime preparations. I got into my pajamas, turned on the heater, to just the right heat, and turned on the fan for circulation.

I pulled back the covers and got into bed. The sheets were freezing, but they wouldn't be for long. I lay there for a minute and realized that my wonderful circulating fan was turning me into an icicle. I got up and promptly turned it of and resumed my place in bed.

I checked my alarms, to make sure they were set. After several minutes of getting comfortable, I drifted off in a peaceful sleep, full of the Vicodin and Ibuprofen I had taken about a half and hour before. My headache was dulled and I was asleep.

Sometime later, while still dark, my boyfriend climbed into bed beside me, and gently shook me awake to utter, "You probably won't remember this in the morning but, he won, Obama won!. By a landslide! 333 to 140-something." (at that time, not all the votes had been tallied yet, but there was a clear winner.)

I raised my hand, smiled and said, "Yay Obama!!" and promptly went back to sleep.

Where were you when you heard the news?

Yes we can!

Today, I am proud to be an American. I am proud that we as a people spoke clearly in a big voice and asked for change.

Note: I had a shorter CNN version here, but I can't get it to embed right, sorry for the length, but it's still AWESOME!
